| About me | Much of my working life has been spent in the construction, demolition and surface mining fields though i later spent some time working for a company that developed and sold unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's). All in all, i figure haven't been overly friendly to the earth on which our continued development depends and somewhere along the line i decided a change in direction was in order. Surfing the net using keywords like "adventure", "fun" "outdoor" and "jobs" quickly yielded what i didn't know i was looking for - a caretaker position - and i soon landed myself a job! For the past few years i have worked for a wonderful family as a camp caretaker for their cabin rental facility. My responsibilities included all phases of repair and maintenance such as leveling cabins, painting, plumbing, cutting firewood, grounds upkeep and constructing new facilities (swings, sheds, etc.) and furniture, as well as checking on guests, handling reservations and basic administrative tasks. Being a property caretaker has been a rewarding experience for me and one in which i am able to put to use many of my skills as well as develop new ones. I enjoy living in secluded areas away from the clutter of civilization and working outside in the fresh air among nature, a life style i find preferable to a corporate cubicle or typical construction job.
