This friendly duo grew up on the ocean and after 28 years of landlocked existence, they are headed back to the water. Thirty plus year veterans of the hospitality industry, Deb and Ernie understand customer service. Debra has received much national recognition (“Top 60 Restaurant in America” – Gourmet Magazine) (Top Five Chefs in US by National Pork Council) and was named Nashville’s “Best Chef” seventeen times in her twenty-eight years spent in Music City. Ernie has owned Nashville’s oldest fly fishing and light tackle guide service since 1987. A nationally published outdoor writer, photographer and Emmy award wining television producer, he has been a member of the South Eastern Outdoor Press Asoociation since the early ‘90’s. Besides being the CEO and GM of a restaurant with annual sales of over a million dollars and twenty-plus employees, he is a certified sommelier with extensive experience with fine wines. Semi-fluent in Spanish, Ernie is a framing and trim carpenter, a decent mason and tile layer, a good plumber and can do basic electrical wiring. A Coast Guard licensed captain, Ernie’s guiding experience stretches back over thirty years, beginning as a deck hand on his father’s charter boat on Cape Cod in the early ‘70’s. Since then, he’s lobstered, scalloped and tuna fished commercially, guided for landlocked striped bass and hybrids, smallmouth bass, trout, walleye and destination guided for steelhead and salmon, tarpon and redfish, on both fly and conventional tackle. He enjoys freediving, sightfishing the flats or billfishing offshore, can set a good trolling spread and loves the bait and switch game.
